The Eifert List - Weekly Briefing
Welcome to the first issue of the Eifert List - a weekly briefing on men's fashion and apparel. Each Thursday, I’ll be highlighting a few things in men’s fashion that actually caught my attention — pieces that are well-made, well-priced (mostly), and just straight-up good.
Let's get into it.

J.Crew Ludlow Premium Dress Shirt in Blue Pinstripe
Why I like it: 100% cotton gives it a great feel while wearing and enables it to be laundered pretty easily at a dry cleaner (i.e., the 100% cotton gets very crispy which looks professional). 100% cotton also means it doesn’t start to stink after a long day like some shirts with synthetic fibers. It’s traditionalist, bucking the trend of turning every garment into one that can “go from boardroom, to gym, to your son’s baseball practice, to the bar…” ad nauseam. Also, the collar is a perfectly balanced tab collar that doesn’t overtake face shape.
Things to look out for: J.Crew changed sizing to follow S, M, L rather than Neck x Sleeve Length a few years ago.

Emanuel Berg Dark Blue Wool Jersey Jacket
Why I like it: Single-breasted with patch pockets and hefty (but not costume-y) notch lapels — this jacket stands out from most off-the-rack blazers. The fabric is 100% virgin wool, and the longer fiber lengths make it incredibly comfortable to wear. It’s slightly heathered, which gives the deep navy tone a bit of texture and variation — making it super versatile to pair across different color palettes. It looks thoughtful without trying too hard.
Things to look out for: Emanuel Berg doesn’t ship to the U.S. directly from their website, so you’ll need to try it on at an affiliated retailer or a solid menswear boutique. The price is on the higher end — but it’s well-aligned with the quality.

Blu Scarpa La Blu Palm Sportiva
Why I like it: First and foremost — I’ve never seen Blu Scarpa in the wild. That either means it’s the best-kept secret from the American market... or it’s just not worth it (lol). That said, the Sportiva loafer has two things I really value: (i) a supple, almost crushable, unlined upper, and (ii) a rubber outsole. Don’t get me wrong — there’s definitely a time and place for an all-leather loafer, but for something summery like this, a rubber sole just makes more sense.
Things to look out for: Maybe Blu Scarpa’s mystery is part of the allure… but some of the other items on their site raise eyebrows (a plain white linen tee for $475? A leather tennis racket case for $1,800? Mama mia!). That said, their footwear — which is what they started with — seems to punch in the right weight class.

Garmin Forerunner 955
Why I like it: Music connectivity allows you to run without your phone. The display is super easy to read in all light conditions. It’s great at tracking different activities and is allegedly quite accurate with calorie counting. The Garmin Connect app has also been really helpful for training for the NYC Marathon — it’s included with the watch, so it’s effectively a free training plan.
Things to look out for: Recently, the sleep tracking has gone totally out the window. On nights where I feel well-rested, the watch will sometimes tell me I had little to no REM sleep — which can give the wrong kind of placebo effect.
